About Help for Writers and Lara

I founded Help for Writers because I believe that, with the right information and encouragement, any writer can break into publishing.

I am the author of two novels and one nonfiction book. DONUT DAYS, my debut young-adult novel, was published in 2009 by Penguin/Putnam and was selected to the 2010 Lonestar Reading List. My second novel, THE IMPLOSION OF AGGIE WINCHESTER, will be out in summer of 2011 and is also published by Penguin/Putnam. My nonfiction book, MAKE THINGS HAPPEN: THE KEY TO NETWORKING FOR TEENS was published in 2003 by Lobster Press. I have more than ten years of experience in communications. For the past seven years, I have edited LSAmagazine, an alumni publication at the University of Michigan, which reaches more than 170,000 readers every issue. I live for words and good stories -- both during the workweek and beyond.

I am represented by Susanna Einstein of LJK Litearary. I live in Michigan and I eat cheese, probably too often.
