About Help for Writers and Lara Zielin

DONUT DAYS, my debut young-adult novel, was published in 2009 by Penguin/Putnam and was selected to the 2010 Lonestar Reading List. My second novel, THE IMPLOSION OF AGGIE WINCHESTER is now on shelves now, and is also published by Penguin/Putnam. My third book, THE WAITING SKY, will be out in summer 2012.

I recently edited a collection of essays by writers about the craft of putting pen to paper. In INK STAINS, nine authors with more than 25 published books between them offer countless insights to help your writing leave a mark.

My nonfiction book for teens, MAKE THINGS HAPPEN: THE KEY TO NETWORKING  was published in 2003 by Lobster Press. To learn more about my books or to read my author blog, please visit www.larawrites.com.

I have more than ten years of experience in communications. For the past seven years, I have edited LSA Magazine, an alumni publication at the University of Michigan, which reaches more than 170,000 readers every issue. I live for words and good stories -- both during the workweek and beyond.

I am represented by Susanna Einstein of the Einstein Thompson Agency. I live in Michigan and I eat cheese, probably too often.
